September 2022 Artsnacks Doodle

Every month, I do a swatching and sampling doodle with the supplies that I receive in my Artsnacks subscription box. This month’s box included a pocket set of Cretacolor AquaGraph Color pencils, a Zig Memory System Brushables marker in Spring Green, and Sakura Micron Pen.

These supplies inspired me to draw and color another Cute Cuttle[fish] Cthulhu. The pencils and markers were perfect for this drawing. The watercolor pencils have charcoal mixed in which gave the painting a grainy, underwater effect that I liked. The bright green marker made the cuttlefish stand out against the subdued background.

As for the Cthulhu reference, I recently purchased a portable coffee tumbler from Storm Crow with a Cthulhu on it which reminded me of cuttlefish picture that I saw. Also, one of my favorite webcomics, Coral of the Void by @weflapscomics, features a Cthulhu. So he’s been on my radar. Plus - the Cuttle Cthulhu is pretty cute.
