July 2024 - Working on paintings

This month, I worked on painting coloring book samples and sewing some tunics.

Summer is here and so is the heat. It seems every summer for the past few years, I’ve had the sewing bug for about 2-3 weeks. It definitely has to do with the heat and not wanting to wear just t-shirts for work. Before this batch of sewing, I wore my three favorite tunics from last year every week. Now, I’ll have about seven shirts (tunics and kaftans) in summer rotation.

I painted three pieces in between my sewing projects: two coloring book samples and one acrylic marker painting. Both samples were completed with alcohol markers. Lily Pads Tangle took about 4 hours to paint. And Protea Bunches took 16+ hours to do to all the details. Both were super relaxing. The acrylic painting was inspired by a painting that my friend sent me on Wednesday morning. Then after work, I wanted to paint it so I did. It took 3 hours to complete - so inspiring!
