April 2024 Projects and Paintings
It was a busy month with projects!
This month was packed full of projects and art. I finalized my coloring book and uploaded it to Amazon and now on sale. (Please check it out!) This was a good project for me - I learned how to self-publish on KDP and got more familiar with inDesign. I’m also working on the second volume of my coloring book series. There will be a format change to the next volume. There will be more coloring pages - the inspiration art, note and swatch page will be the same but there will be less journaling pages. And there will be swatch sample page at the end. The book size will be the same since it’s travel ready. During my vacation, I used acrylic paint markers, pigment pens and coloring pencils.
Marker painting is a new skill that I’m practicing. I purchased Ohuhu alcohol markers to supplement the Copic ones that I have. Ohuhu markers are less expensive but they’re pretty comparable and I like that they are refillable like the Copic. The brush tips are a bit different. I might change out some of chisel tips on both makers to a small bullet tip for some of my favorite colors since my paintings are fairly small and miniature. I need to practice more with these pens so you’ll be seeing more of them in the future. The chisel tips are good for coloring large spaces so I’ll have to think about it.
Just a reminder that I have a Patreon: Gift tier $1 per month, Coffee tier $5 per month for digital art lovers, and Latte tier $10 per month for digital downloads and 2 prints. Check out my Patreon at www.Patreon.com/GemmaGeluzDesigns.com.
